Bubba Ho-tep is now $14.99 on DVD at my local Beast Buy.
I bought it today.
Haven't watched it yet.
Expect an enthusiastic Post here once I've made time to watch it; I've heard nothing but fun praise for the thing.

THAT's the Chicago way...

This is certainly not the first time I've expressed this sentiment, nor is it likely to be the last, but...
Valentine's Day sucks.
Okay, there was that rather interesting programme about candy on the Food Network. But, ,honestly, if I see one more of those "Every Kiss Begins With 'Kay'" ads I'm going to start listing other things that begin with "K" that aren't so faux romantic. Oh, darling, I love you so much. Here -- see! To prove my affection I spent lots of money on these rocks. "Family Guy" said it best with a quick cutaway TV commercial: "Diamonds. She'll Pretty Much Have To."
Valentine's Day sucks.
It's like a nationally mandated multi-media attempt to remind you if you're alone. And on Valentine's Day. Awww...

Death of a...

A few days ago I was wondering when the third shoe would drop. Ozzie Davis. Johnny Carson. These things tend to come in threes. I was wondering if I was failing to take someone into account or if the third was coming.
Well, the third just came. Arthur Miller, dead at 89.
He could bed Marilyn Monroe, tell off HUAC, and write damned good plays. We'll not see his like again.
